Just starting to show mature notes of forest floor and leather that peak out of a dominant Merlot wine of power, with red and black fruits that are concentrated, but shows all of it with grace. Medium grain tannins are a little dusty but smooth.

Rich cherry and plum pillowed by vanilla and smoky perfume. It's almost hedonistic on the nose but the structure is unmistakable on the palate! Juicy yet clearly defined.

Purple to dark red in color, not showing much in the age department. The first 30 minutes the nose and palate was all savory with beef jerky, mint, and leather notes. After a 30 minute decant mulled spices, cassis, currants, and minerality appeared. Firm but ripe tannins made up part of the wonderful balance this wine had. This hardly drank like a 14 year old wine.

At the top of the bell curve right now. Would seem to have another solid 4-5 years in that capacity. Delish.

Started out all berries and shaved chocolate and opened up beautifully....then really clamped down a bit after a couple hours...killer wine just starting to show some age notes but leave it alone still....really nice next to the 2004 Pontet Canet.

Lights out. High complexity, oaky vanilla, long finish. Nothing but class out of this Right Bank beauty.
