Medium to dark Ruby in colour. Red and black fruits, cassis, some sweatiness on the nose, cedar, sage and a touch of pipe tobacco. Terrific fruit considering that 2007 was a lesser vintage ie. 6/10. 64% Cabernet, 30% Merlot (quite high for the left bank), 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. In summary a good 2nd Growth for the vintage. One of the 1001 wines.

It could be that we've already had a bottle of wine, but it is an exceptional red - full bodied and medium spiced!
