Le Saint-Estèphe de Montrose Red Bordeaux Blend

Blend of 49% Merlot, 43% Cab Sauv, 4% Cab Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, aged in 30% new and 70% one-year old barrels for 12 months, deep Ruby with aromas of red/black fruits and notes of tobacco and earthy herbs. On the palate flavors of Black cherry, raspberry and currants, light cigar spice, cacao and herb notes. Firm approachable tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy mineral character. Very nice!

I see slightly lower scores here perhaps because it’s already drinking so sumptuously. I had to slap myself twice to ensure I wasn’t imagining it’s majesty.
