Dec 27th, 2019Tawny red with nice deep core. Great aged Cal Cab nose. Notes of plums, mocha, black fruit, a little wood and some dry earth. Nicely balanced in the mouth. Round with dusty tannins. Liked this.

Incredibly dense and smooth with brightness and fruit left - a touch alcoholic but goes along with the overall richness of the wine.

Jul 19th, 2016Classic Bordeaux nose of seawater, cassis, tobacco, grilled meat, minerality, cinnamon, licorice. Complex mouthfeel with dark cherry, more cassis, smoke, long finish. In great shape, drink now. This is the last 750 of this vintage in our family's collection but we still have two magnums!

1997 Chateau Montelena. Quarantine. Amazing. Still a lot of fruit and tannins. Did not decant and it didn’t need it.
