blowzy, boozy, obtuse, über extracted & overrated relic from the dynamic duo of paker/rolland who promoted wines of #Brobdingnagian build for point hoarding collectors in the waining years of the 20th century. interesting study, but taxing on the senses.

This bottle did not make it. Brownish color no fruit but bloody nose with an old structure.

Crinkly dark plums, still fresh fruit with great balance between alcohol, wood, and body. Fun for the whole family.

Expecting a touch more power for the vintage. Softer dark cherry and plum.

A really pleasant surprise. Thought this might be over the top but while plenty ripe, it has good earthy notes and graphite to complement the fruit. Really nice.

Multiple layers going on here! One of my fellow wine freaks said: “great funk on the nose, tastes of plum & cherries.”

This has been in my cellar since I purchased it “en premiere”. Tasted several times over 20 years And it was always tough monster. not now!. It is a mouthful of luscious dark fruit and chocolate, silky smooth and compelling. It is still available grab what you can!

Blackberry nose, ripe lush dark fruit and spice flavor with soft tannins. Very enjoyable with many years ahead.

Black, dark fruit. Quite subdued and clear. Plum fruit and clarity. A little lacking midpalate but good balance.!

Decanted 40 min needed more time. Very dense cherry. Meaty flavors. Still fine structural. Tannins softening it may get better still
