Had two bottles. First one corked. Second lacked edges of a great year but a pleasant, cigar box glass nevertheless. Thank you Henry. #birthyearwine #wontmakeittilyoure21

Deep garnet red with lighter edges. Layered nose with notes of dark berries, spices, and herbal. A bit woody too with some damp earth and tobacco notes. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Solid acidity with red berries, touch darker as well, dark spices, twigs and some minerality. Dry and medium plus finish. Drink till 2022.

2002, Lynch Bages virgin. Wow this is good! Courtesy of Wick Pilcher. Prob the smoothest Bordeaux I've tasted.

It may have rated higher but I feel it was poorly placed in the line up. It should have been second to last and not first. Big... big... wine! In fact you may want to leave any you have for your children or grandchildren.

Solid example in an off vintage, but sometimes this is where the gems are, showing a predominate oak influence, but it's because the fruit never really lived up to it.
