Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend

We’re having the last 2011 Leoville tonight. This is always a wine for celebrating with. A traditional Saint-Julien wine of the finest quality. This 2011 vintage has great purity, concentrated fruit and serious structure. Classic cassis, brambly dark fruit deliciousness and deft use of oak are masterfully woven together into a seamless #grandcruclassé I can’t wait to have a few more glasses while this rain sets in for the weekend 🍷 #saintjulien #leovillebarton #memories

Opening up nicely after 12 years! Delicious… Dark purple, heavy bodied, velvety tannins.. blackberries with notes of plum, mint, pepper, butter!!

The best of the three. Well balanced, smooth tanins, just perfect with the sauce à la crème veal.

2011 not as great year but well made, plenty of depth despite poor fruit. My go to Bordeaux

Great integrated oak nose with a lovely medium body on the palate, soft smooth tannins. Quite nice.

Full-bodied with acerbic bite, beginning to open up splendidly.

A bit disjointed and not the balanced velvet powerhouse I remember when I had the 2003 vintage.

Plum and currant show through with hints of tobacco balanced by the tannins and charcoal. Very nice wine.
