Oct 20th, 2023Second try - I thought this was only OK when popped and poured, but now has been open for an hour or so - not decanted, but poured through an aerator.
Nose: perfumed wood, spice, and bing cherry. The spice has gotten much more exotic and clear with air - dessert spices like cinnamon, clove, and vanilla. Smells like sweet bitters. Light-medium weight.
Taste: exactly as it smells - the baking spice has really come out with air - plus a little bitter chocolate (not dark, just bitter). Be sure to let it breathe. 88-89. Probably not worth the $12-13 I paid, but solid.

Bordeaux Blend of (Organically Grown) Merlot (85%), Malbec (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%). Dark ruby color. Aromas and flavors of black currant, plums, coffee and dark chocolate. Medium bodied with chewy tannins. Noticeable acidity. Very easy drinker.
