Wow. This is full of cedar box and smoke, dark fruit, that french terroir of scorched earth, its medium body with smooth tannins. Decanted 1 1/2 hours.
I've had several vintages of Figeac and this one is a no nonsense vintage. Peaking in the next 1-3 years? Like my location Paul?

Figeac killed it in '03. Ripe and appealing medium plus weight red fruit, but none of the clumsiness that marks so many wines from this vintage. Roasted red peppers, duck fat, tobacco ash with just enough cinnamon-stick and clove oak spice. Sexy aroma and velvety texture. I know these are way overdone descriptors, but if ever a wine deserved them, this would be it. Weighty, but so graceful.

I 💗 the smell of Figeac in the morning! A hot random year in Bordeaux with many hints & misses - this £110 fav of mine is a sure hit 👍 Stunning nose, good body but average finale

🍇 35% Cab S, 35% Cab F & 30% Merlot

🍷 Opaque ruby

👃 Smokey spiced dark plum through minerals, oak & cedar, soggy earthy leaves & liquorice w/ mocha, black cherry & herby tones 😍

👄 Med body of creamy smooth silky stewed dark plum w/ minerals, mocha & liquorice

🎯 Long plummy creamy molasses liquorice earthy touch dry linger

What a fun wine. Earthy farm smells. Rich Humis. Just love it. Wish it had a little more legs. But wonderful.
