Reserve Velvet Red Blend



Dark ruby in color with a wide red/purplish rim.
Fruity nose of plums, cherries, cooked blueberries, oak, licorice, spices, vanilla, light vegetables, coffee, chocolates, tobacco, earth and peppercorn.
Medium bodied and soft, with medium acidity and and nice legs.
Dry and spicy on the palate with blackberries, currants, plums, oak, vanilla, vegetables, spices, chocolates, peppercorn, tobacco, earth and bitter herbs.
Long spicy finish with soft tannins and black pepper.
This red blend from Georgia State is drinking nicely now, better than it was a couple of years ago, actually.
Not completely balanced but showing nice complexity and a spicy /bitter finish. Nice and soft mouthfeel with almost no tannins.
Not good right out of the bottle, and needs an hour to open up properly.
A good food wine. I paired it with soft and hard cheeses.
A blend of Petite Sirah and Petite Verdot.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

Medium finish with green, aggressive tannings and lots of black pepper.
50% Petit Verdot and 50% petite Syrah.
Very young. Not sure why it is served, but it has good potential.
