Tropical nose of sweet flowers and pineapple. Golden apple, lemon pie, and oak restraint add complexity. Let this one open and enjoy it evolve.

Pure UR-Chardonnay. A pleasant density to the flavors and fruit. $25 Retail.

Love this wine, rich, elegant, not sure there is anything better in price range

Tonight I am enjoying a Chardonnay from the Central Coast of California. The 2014 Calera Chardonnay.

On the nose I get white peach, passionfruit, mandarin orange, citrus fruits, creamy vanilla, and oak.

The first sip and the first thing that hits you up front is the steely minerality, lemon curd, peach, cream brulee, pie crust, chamomile, chalk and wet flint rock.

There is sharp crisp acidity and a clean long finish. A nice clean Chardonnay that is very enjoyable.

Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷

I really liked this, but I've always had a soft spot for (well done) Cali chard. Ripe, nutty, some sweet butter, so so delicious

The 2014 is probably the best I've had of this wine. A blend of great central coast vineyard sights. Only %10 new oak really lets the fruit shine. Great value for the money.

2014, wow for under 20??? And I know this gets used a lot but very Burgundian in style. Clean and precise, great notes of white flower and kiss of green apple. Cheers

Over delivers per usual. Medium bodied, slightly more mineral and more understated malo influence than 2013.

Hard to find fault with this wine showing it’s age well: still straw colored w/hint of green. Big fruit: Bosc pear, white peach & pineapple, guava, acacia flowers, lemon custard, etc. the complexity was impressive as was the broad frame thru mid-palate. The only off key aspect was how the oak treatment has evolved & resolved itself in this wine where it exhibited subtle bitter/astringent note.
