Vintage 2010 - tasted blind, to fool my Barolo loving friends (@Berry Marinussen and @Noel Geisen recognized xinomavro, bravo). Xinomavro is Greece’s answer to nebbiolo, says Hugh Johnson. Very light colour, minerals in smell, plums. A bit difficult taste, certainly not middle-of-the-road, high in bitters and much power. Lots of character, I’d say. After aeration it’s smooth, though. Very interesting to taste. #greece #xinomavro pff, it’s an acquired taste, says my winefriend. It is 😉.

Pleasantly surprising. Nothing outstanding from a winemaking standpoint, but a lovely expression of fruit. I wouldn't have guessed Greece. Pinot noir-like, medium- body, gorgeous aromas. I'd buy this.

Savory aromas, licorice, dried plums. Reminds me of a southern Italian red in aromas and flavors. Really enjoy this.

Really enjoying this. Structurally very similarly to Nebbiolo. Semi sweetly fruited cranberry like palate and some noticeable oak to go with it. Blind tasted you'd surely call it as a ripe neb. Good finish, solid flavour intensity. Can't really complain
