Viña San Román Toro Tempranillo

Great Tempranillo! Power but elegant. Lots of oak but elegant. Just lovely!

Boldly structured with aromas of wet soil, campfire, and dark chocolate. Paired with baked provoleta cheese, yummy! Drinking the 2014 which is still a bit young.

Always a solid bet. Toro wines are typically hard beasts but this one displays elegance and finesse which is hard to resist. Yes, there’s plenty of oak here but I’ve found that, with time, it tones down and blends a bit more with the red and black fruits. Great value alternative to Ribera del Duero and even some Napa Cabs.
