Viña Pomal Reserva Rioja Tempranillo

This wine is medium-dark garnet in the glass. The nose gives off a beautiful bouquet of flowers in addition to the fruit. Aromas of plum, blackberry, cassis, coffee and vanilla abound. The palate offers dark fruit with a slightly savory side. Notes of earth join the black fruit extravaganza for a double-your-pleasure display.

Clear, deep ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of dried figs, cedar, and cherries; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of strawberry sauce, sweet tobacco, tar, and wet gravel with a long finish. This wine is intense and complex. I think it will open up more with time in the glass or more time in the bottle. Overall, I rate this wine as very good.

Opened 12th may 2018, aired 1 hr. Dark red with medium to heavy body. Nose sweet with cherry tinge. Acidic with licorice flavour. Bitter mandarin orange taste. Great tannin. Medium finishing.
