Bodegas Beronia
Rueda Verdejo

The wine shows green-gold in the glass and looks clean. It smells crisp, with a big grapefruit play up front and other citrus notes joining apple and anise. On the palate, there's a brisk acidity to accompany the citrus and minerals that produce the clean mouthfeel.

Darker yellow color veering into gold w/subtle greenish hues - no doubt darkened up from some bottle age. I love me some Verdejo and this did not disappoint. Initially gave off some oaky notes which was confusing. Ripe yellow citrus & orchard fruit mingled with herbs - rich leesy character… kept debating about oak treatment. I’ve had oaked Verdejo, but the mouthfeel confirmed this did not see any. Beautiful on palate, recalling nose, smooth & well-balanced, this paired beautifully w/our BAS (Big Ass Salad) of homemade smoked salmon, plenty of veggies & all kinds of briny stuff. Bump for QPR

We paired it with Grilled swordfish and it went perfectly! Easy on the palate and smooth finish. Would definitely serve this again!

One of the more unusual Verdejo I’ve had (aside from those oaked) - pale straw w/slight greenish hue but very generous aromatics from normally austere smelling grape: ripe citrus and pear mingled with herby flinty notes, rounded off and silky yet w/bracing acidity - very clean crisp & balanced. Loved w/salad of briny stuff & smoked salmon.
