Big and linear, with gobs of baked plum and cherries, touch of thyme, and a whack of vanillin oak. Huge weight and concentration, real heavy alcohol 16%, little acidity and an overly creamy, polished texture. A monster hedonists if that's what your into, but for me overoaked, over-polished, overripe, and lacking any form of grace.

An Aussie in campo de Borja showing a powerful Aussie style. I'm into this decadence.

This wine is phenomenal, loads of chocolate, dark wild berries, espresso, and vanilla. One of my favorite wines, but just that... a great wine, yet not a great Grenache. My soapbox - this wine is made big, and so big, it competes with Syrah or even Sangrantino, and therefore looses it's identity.

Stunningly bold and large-scaled, but also fresh and interesting, holding great minerality and wonderful length. Best ever.

2011. Went to a wine party at our friends and we brought this wine from the cellar to pair with the pork belly “burnt ends” our host was making... the burnt ends turned out to be fantastic, and this vintage, which seemed to be a little less “huge” than the 16% abv would suggest, paired great!

Rhubard. Dark berries. Cassis and strong chalky mineral. I think same producer as 3 rivers. Dark color. Spicy n savoury. Menthol. Chocolate and vanilla
