Beautiful fruit density and texture, delicious right now but will develop even further with time

The 2016 Beaux Freres ‘The Beaux Freres Vineyard’ Pinot Noir is a simply marvelous new effort from this storied estate. The Ribbon Ridge AVA wine shows wonderful earthy terroir on the nose. This shows a wonderful combination of red and dark fruits on the nose with Asian spice and forest floor aromatics. The palate shows good richness and tension with red currant, red cherry candy, strawberry puree and orange rind flavors with a touch of peat moss. Rich and focused, this will cellar well for the next fifteen years. Drink 2018-2033- 95

My 2500th wine on Delectable. Delicious and beautifully balanced with lovely red fruits and some Sous Bois. Enjoyed with Grilled Pork Chops. 14.1% abv.

Aroma of soil. Red and dark fruits, soil and spice. A sweetness we found off putting.

Tasty. Fruit here is a tad sweeter than most Burgundies. 14.1% abv. Reminds me a bit of the 2018 Drouhin 1er Clos des Mouches, I had recently in France.

Tried hard but seemed tired. Both the Coravin and the fresh bottle sample. Has some elegance to it Cherry notes are still there and some spice. But the lack of interesting secondary complexity for the age surprised me for this usually top notch winery. Low rating given the high investment.
