Tight to start- red cherries, plums, apple, mango, then suddenly tannins - dry, light acid, some smoke - after a few minutes these do mellow out and play out to a long finish.

I had the 2018 in 2022. Probably too early. It was closed at the beginning, then became fruity but finally a bit bitter. The winemaker is a legend but I find his wine rather overrated. I am prepared to give it another try.
