2007 vintage. Arietta's "entry level" Bordeaux blend from David Abreu's Howell Mountain vineyard, blended with remains of his Hudson vineyard (at the time). 51% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Intense perfume with big black fruit, pencil lead, cedar wood and a gentle touch of vanilla. Full-bodied with layers of rich dark fruit, subtle spices, fresh balancing acidity and a long mineral finish. Very impressive indeed.
