A dark ruby color with purple accents and thin edges. The nose is screaming at me about it’s youth but I don’t listen. Truthfully, the nose doesn’t wow and I’m a little worried diving into this. Ripe dark fruits abound. A little bit of dried earth to go with the vanilla and oak. A touch of dark chocolate emerges as time goes on. Good but not great but things shortly improve from here.

Mostly Cabernet with Merlot and a smattering of Petit Verdot and Zinfandel. That unmistakable mountain fruit strikes here. Beautifully dry with good acid and enough complexity. Ripe tannins and a slight, pleasant bitterness. Blueberries, raspberries, and cassis get the party started off right. More vanilla and oak along with a little coffee. A long finish with plenty of spice. A real standout among grocery store Napa Cabs. Let it sit and grow in age and you’ll be rewarded.
