Apr 17th, 2014Color - dark garnet with purple hues and some bricking. Nose- very aromatic with blue fruits, currants, peppery spice jerky and subtle vanilla. Herbaceous and worn leather with subtle menthol give to its secondary notes. Taste is full with dark cherry-plum and chocolate that give the wine a smooth velvety and rich feel followed by a spicy and pencil lead long finish. What can I say, absolutely yummy!

1 hour decant(lots of fine/cloudy sediment). A marvelous murky dark purplish garnet color. On the nose: stunning aromas of dark fruit, currants, herbaceous, worn leather, peppery jerky, rich soil. Taste: velvety, rich, structured, leaning savory wine with dark plum/cherry, chocolate, gravel, smokey earth, spice and a long graphite/leather finish. YUM! Napa cab kickin it at age 16 with time to go.

Dark plum, cherry, cassis, licorice, and graphite. Sensual deep and totally harmonious. Long finish great aromatics. This is Napa red wine at its best!

As I finish yesterdays Outpost, we'll let this decant a bit.
This is a great wine, easily another 10 years left in it. This so deserved a nice 24oz bone in Rib Eye, but just no time to get out. I failed the wine with my Mongolian beef take out😔

Starting the wknd early, 2 hour decant so far, just keeps getting better.
Finally able to try a Thorevilos 04 was cooked my 07's came in leaking had to send back,
Glad I gave it another try
