Very interesting! A Japanese Whiskey with some peaty smoke and alcohol burn. — 7 years ago
Candylike aromas on the nose of pear and red apple, bubblegum, cherry blossom. Sweet cherry blossom and honey on the palate with a big dose of anise, red and black licorice. Pure and crystalline but just a bit oversweet and medicinal to me. — 8 years ago
Certainly well named - the Japanese are very exact with this description - “Peaty and Salty” nails it. I don’t drink a lot of whisky but as the weather cools down it was a great little tipple - one of the best I’ve had in recent years. Iodine/seaweed notes through the spirit. Not shy at 55% ABV and expensive for this 500ml bottle at $300 AUD but superb quality. — 5 years ago
Inviting nose, sweet round single-malt flavors, interesting finish. Just a very pleasurable tipple. The only reason this is not a perfect whiskey is the very faintest note of varnish in the nose and finish. Reminded me a bit of Kavalan Sherry Cask in that respect. I had this in Japan with my lovely wife Dreama, at The Long Bar in Sapporo, Hokkaido. — 6 years ago

Beautiful fragrance caramel like from intense Merlot and 2003 tannins mellow out and I mostly drank all of it. Paired with 4 day stewed Hokkaido abalone and 5kg yellow spot tiger garoupa. This is still the best Cantonese restaurant in HK — 6 years ago
This was such a fun taste. Brought to me by a customer after discussing Chinese and Japanese wines. Drinks like the Kerner you’d find in Italy. Fresh floral, pineapple, pears, and white peppercorn on the finish — 6 years ago
鳳凰美田 from 小林酒造. Fragrance develops and exerts more floral as it warms to room temperature. Smooth taste and elegant body 40% special A yamada rice from Mita. Paired with stewed smelt and cured Hokkaido uni on spinach. ¥1800 @ayatomi — 7 years ago
