Yannick is a rock star! We fell in love with his Colombard, and now his Tannat, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet. Check out these wines! — 9 years ago

Delicious, minerally futs de chene from Yannick Poras Haute Vallee de l'Orbe — 11 years ago
2009 vintage. At the Domaine with Yannick, the wine maker. Medium ruby hue. Earthy, masculine, manure, broad and brawny. Dark fruits - blackberry and black plum. Hints of savoury spice and white pepper. Reductive smokiness. Some old oak. Complex. On the palate, high acidity, medium plus body, medium plus alcohol and medium tannins - very plush. Textural and silky. Good concentration. Good length although some tart notes on the back of the palate. Good. Drink now until 2032+. — 8 years ago
2010 vintage. Tasting with Yannick at The Domaine. Pale garnet hue. On the nose, smoky, reductive, savoury, plush black plums. Spicy. Interesting. On the palate, medium plus acidity and medium tannins - plush, medium body and medium plus concentration. Energetic and tense. Nothing round here. Good finish, with some tartness on the back of the palate. Not really my style of Burgundy but interesting. — 8 years ago

One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!
So, to my friends, do you remember your first wine on here? Was it anything memorable? @philip Angino @Martin A.
