This is not the Yamazaki or the Hibiki but it’s an easy drinking solidly constructed whiskey. More sweet and fruity in style—caramel and toffee covered apple, white raisin, peat and fresh cut flowers. This is the Summer shandy of whiskeys. Light on its feet and super inviting. — 8 years ago
Gorgeous tawny color. Rich aromas of caramel, honey, cigar box, licorice, with bacon fat, oily notes in the mid palate and dark chocolate hints. Dried figs, raisins, and raspberry flavors as well. Integrated tannins. Long syrupy finish. — 9 years ago

Top quality, one of the best Japanese whiskeys. Heavy dried fruit notes, strong vanilla finish. — 9 years ago
Pale lemon color. Aromas of gingerbread, subtle peat, malt, vanilla, spiced rum, toasted oatmeal, lavender, and honey. Subtle tannins, long finish. — 9 years ago
Oloroso sherry in color. Nose: earthy aromas, peat, turf, wet forest floor, Japanese cedar, dried herbs, vanilla, cigar smoke, and subtle green fruits in the background. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel. Palate: Up front, loads of peat, campfire smoke, pine needles, and incense. Dried apples, creme brûlée, and Asian pear round out the luxurious finish. Yamazaki gets a lot of the attention, but aged Hakushu is the mountains and forests of Japan in a glass! — 9 years ago
