Lingua Franca

Avni Willamette Valley Chardonnay 2016

Bright medium yellow in color with aromas of lemon, green apple, and white flowers. The palate is driven by racy acidity and stony minerality. Combines fruit from predominantly Nekia soils in Salem’s Bunker Hill, Eola-Amity Hills including Lingua Franca Estate Vineyard, Yamhill-Carlton, and a small contribution from Laubejac Vineyard near Monmouth in Willakenzie soils. Very pleasant entry level wine. 13% ABV. $35. — 6 years ago

On the nose, slightly candied fruits of; dark cherries, strawberries, black raspberries, pomegranate & cranberries. Vanilla, soft spice, limestone minerals, dry top soil and fresh, fragrant red florals. On the palate, ripe & slightly candied fruits; strawberries, black raspberries, pomegranate & cranberries. Nice soft spice, light intensity of baking spices, nice chalkiness, limestone minerals, a little dark turned earth, great acidity and a rich, round, well polished finish. Reserve Clover Oregon Pinot Gris 2015

Great Pinot Gris with fruit from Bishop Creek and Whistling Ridge vineyards, Willamette AVA. Willakenzie soil. Neutral French acacia and oak barrels. Only 380 cases produced so if you can find it - buy it! Delicious. Apple and pear. Soft on the palette. Touch of honey. Morphed as it aired. — 6 years ago

Kiana Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir 2014

Elegant with silky texture and smooth backdropped tannins. Pinot Noir in the New World fashion yet proposed with power, expressing raspberry and cranberry notes alongside spiced hints of clove and cedar tree. Oak treatment is not overbearing and compliments the varietal well — 6 years ago
