Merry Monks Belgian Style Tripel Ale

At the bar at the Holiday Inn in Clark, NJ! Never had this before. Served a bit too cold and a bit too much carbonation, but a really enjoyable Belgian-style American Triple. — 10 years ago

I stayed there on feb 14,1980 for my Merck interview If they had a bar back then I probably wouldn't have gotten a job.

Weyerbacher

Sunday Morning Stout

Big warm melted chocolate and Sumatran coffee nose with sponge cake. Lighter than expected, but lavishly structured chocolate soda with chocolate syrup, chocolate espresso bean, vanilla bean, and candied smoke becoming very coffee, and leaning on a burnt matchstick at the end. A lot of push and pull here. — 10 years ago

20th Anniversary Belgian Style Dark Ale

A lightly, run-soaked, raisin bread aroma, deep, tasty malty spice that evenly balNces spice and a textural richness that belies the added spices, because the Belgium style envelops them well. Peppered just enough, nutmeg: judiciously, and the star anise woven perfectly into the mix. Delicate for its gravity. — 10 years ago
