Victoria Shiraz 2011

I’m liking all the 19 Crimes wines. Purchased at Treasury Employee Store for $6. Pleasant enough wine for the price. — 6 months ago

Giant Steps

Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2021

Bright cherry color in the glass. Notes of red berries, cherry and black tea. Floral throughout and brings a soft tannin finish. Undeniably a Pinot. — 7 months ago

Yarra Yering

Dry Red Wine No°2 Shiraz Blend 2004

Lighter than I expected but not disappointed with layers of exotic spice and fruit. Very reminiscent of an aged Cote Rotie. — 9 months ago

Moonambel Shiraz 2017

Not as tannic as some. Cool@climate Shiraz at its best. — 10 months ago

Tahbilk

Marsanne 2019

Don’t know how this one escaped my attention for so long, but I get why it’s so well loved. Ridiculous QPR. At the risk of both revealing my ignorance and offending everyone, I reckon this is the drink Stanley Dry White cask (a seminal drop in my existence, and fellow Australian cheapo icon) aspires to be. Whistle-clean citrusy drinker with intensity right round the edges. Cellaring a few of these from now on. — 4 years ago

@October Cleveland Tahbilk make 3 Marsanne cuvees. There is this one; the Winemakers Selection and 1927 vines in increasing quality and price. I bought 4 of each from the winery. They live for ages. You might find them at Dans as well.

Good to see Bass Phillip finally making it to the USA now that it is owned by Fourrier. I have been buying it for decades. Certainly in the conversation regarding best Pinot Noir in Australia. I have many notes on Delectable.

19 Crimes

The Banished Dark Red Blend

19 crimes 2021 treffer min gane igjen! Nydelig mørk lilla farge, fylde og den deilige runde, dype, søte sirup-aktige smaken jeg liker så godt. Er det kirsebær eller liknende? — 7 months ago

Yarra Valley Nebbiolo 2021

Lovely Aussi expression of this grape. Lively flavors and smooth in it’s transitions particularly for a wine so young. Closer to a Ghemme than a Barola. Earthy, Raspberry, rose petal, dried fruit, hazelnut. Very approachable young as it is not overly tannic or acidic. — 9 months ago

Shays Flat Vineyard Tournon Shiraz 2013

ESF
9.0

$15 closeout & feels like theft! Inky massive, voluptuous wafting tons of dense black fruit, brooding, white pepper, game, bit feral, had a bit more nuance than many garden variety Shiraz. Very broad across the middle, generous ripe black fruit & pepper, decent balance, little clumsy & provincial, but definitely enjoyable. — 10 months ago
