Nice. Wow. Really smooth. Nice finish. — 9 years ago
A very west coast IPA to the tee, citrusy, piney, a touch of malt to support the nice hops, Magum, Willamette, Casade, Citra, Columbus, Centennial, Chinook, Two Row Vienna Dextrapils malts, Classic style West Coast, One of my home town breweries here in Henderson Nevada, Very good — 10 years ago
Very good west coast IPA, nice hop profile, summit, Simco, centennial hops, peach, grapefruit, orange, earthy, piney, great beer — 10 years ago
Barely bitter compared to west coast IPAs, but some really cool history behind this beer with amazing flavors and concentrated hop essences — 11 years ago
This is the benchmark West Coast IPA. — 12 years ago
Great balance and when fresh bursting with "west coast" hop flavor. — 12 years ago
I was slightly disappointed by this much talked about and praised IPA in the beer community, I like it, and think it had some nice things going for it, but I was not blown away like many are by this beer, nice middle of the country hops and well balanced malt , citrus, very pleasant and subtle, not in your face or palate IPA, 5.9 % ALC/VOL do not taste any of that, very good starter IPA for first timers, defiantly different then the West Coast IPA's I will keep this on hand and give more time to grow on me, only want to give more time because so many are big fans, will re review if something changes, — 12 years ago
I have to say this was really quite good. Summer outside in the West End. — 8 years ago
The best of both moons — 9 years ago
This is m.special brewing from goleta, ca. The greatland special IPA. Really nice IPA. Much better than the pale ale which was barely drinkable. This is maltier than most west coast IPA. Very drinkable. — 10 years ago
10th Anniversary IPA Re-release for the 20th Anniversary Encore Series, big big west coast hops, pine, citrus, peach, orange peel, sweet malt, 10% AVB, Triple IPA, not technically a style, especially back then, adds the new hops now common, Summit and chinook hops, Outstanding back then, and still very impressive, the closest beer to compare with this is Avery's Maharaja, which is still Outstanding as well — 10 years ago
Big eye IPA had always been shadowed by Sculpin, it is malt driven beer, so you do get those big citrus and tropical hops, more towards a English IPA, adding the ginger gives it a little spicy note, that is about it, subtle, so if you like Big Eye, there is very little difference in this beer, solid IPA, west cost — 10 years ago
Stop!!! This is not a Alpine Beer, this was brewed by Green Flash, I have been to Alpine and have enjoy this beer, not to say it is a bad beer, but if you want the great beer that Alpine brews, you have to go to the brewery, it is in a Green Flash bottle and states it is brewed in San Diego, not Alpine, what is different is the Nelson hops are muted, it is more bitter, does not have the white wine characteristics, not a clean finish, wow, what a big disappointment, still a very good west IPA, but not world class as the original — 11 years ago
The best west coast IPA IMO. — 11 years ago
So dank and sticky on the palette. Delicious — 12 years ago
Not dissimilar to a youngish Malmsey Madeira: rich, balanced sweetness, jammy dried fruits, and deep, lasting spices. — 12 years ago

Wow. So Ardmore, PA killing it. If they distribute to the west coast. Look out 🚀! — 9 years ago
Excellent west coast IPA, mosaic and Simcoe hops, tropical and piney, just enough malt balance, very well done — 10 years ago
This is in your face West Coast IPA, here on the west coast we honor and cherish this beers, these are the ones that started the DIPA beers, this brewery in fact was one of the first, West coast IPA's San Diego brewery, multiple locations, Associated with Port brewery and Lost Abbey, big hops, big malts, we still crave and need these beers, when everyone else is going to the tame and mellow DIPA's it is very good to see this brewery remaining true to what they do, Just Like Stone brewery, in cans, big plus, stays fresher longer, All IPA's and DIPA's should be in cans, Excellent DIPA, in the style, West Coast all the way, no mistake of that — 10 years ago
Soild west coast IPA, mixes west coast and east coast style, the malt is prominent, much more than your typical west coast IPA, if you like Dogfish 60 minute IPA, who does not? You will enjoy this, not a hop bomb, but well done — 11 years ago
Going local. Very malty with grapefruit and pine. JL doesn't approve — 11 years ago
One of the most drinkable IPAs ever. Balanced, but lots of personality in a west coast kind of way. — 12 years ago
This beer for some reason, on the beer rating sites does not get very more than fair reviews, it is with out a doubt a very good double IPA, if you like Stone Ruination, which I love, and some other great west coast IPA's , you really can not find too much not to like, or love, big big hops, nice malt backbone, maybe it is a little thin on the tropical notes, Grapefruit is what you mostly get, but overall, it is very good in the style, I like it a lot, not my favorite double IPA, but it is still very good — 12 years ago
