One of the peatier Single Malts around and being from the West and being a McDonald, one of my favourites. Seaweed and spirity with the expected heat on the throat. A good evening tipple as the colder weather sets in. — 9 years ago
Re- review, picked a super fresh bottle, this is much better than I first had, nice tropical and citrus notes with a balance of malts, not the best in the style as far as red IPA's but pretty close, this brewery is not consistence with their beers, it is really hit or miss in the style, so pick this one fresh, check the date, I have not found many of their beers as fresh as this, really makes a big difference — 9 years ago
2015 release, one I look forward to every year, excellent stout, great to cellar as well, big roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, big stout, but smooth easy drinking, do not miss this one, disappears very fast — 10 years ago
Still overpriced, but this scotch is still one of the richest sherry finished malts around that doesn't go overboard (as some might claim of the Aberlour Abunadh.) Thick and substantive in the mouth, it's giving with piney malt and rich red fruit from the sherry butts. Perfect neat - like all good whisky. — 10 years ago
Lots of malts. Enjoyable. Thanks to my former tenants for leaving this behind. — 10 years ago
Very good Amber Ale, big bold malts and bitter hops, seriously? Does Ballast Point ever make anything that not above average? Very rarely, Very good — 10 years ago
Re review of a re release beer, Imperial brown ale, not technically a style, but never less a excellent beer and new style, big malts, caramel, sweet brown sugar, raisins, dates, hops, are Citrus and grapefruit, smooth and well carbonated mouth feel, as brown ales go, and for the price this is great, another well made and unique beer from Lagunitas, no surprise — 9 years ago
Lagunitas 13 anniversary beer is back, in six packs, very good Imperial red, big hops, big malts, but not too sweet, and that is a very good thing in the style, if you dig Brown Sugga and Undercover from this brewery, you will love this, very limited release, go out and get it now, also on par with their Imperial Red, but it had that combination of all the ones I mentioned, very unique in the hop profile, Amarillo hops give it a pineapple flavor, mix with the Caramell and roasted malts, very good in the style, cool label as well, that is Betty, the blond version is Veronica, great brew — 9 years ago
Cocoa powder wafts from the bottle, fresh pumpkin, cinnamon and brown sugar, uncut apple and mocha coffee. Pumpkin at the fore on the palate. Cinnamon on toast, cappuccino into mocha, creme de cocoa, hazelnut, and the malts have integrated so well with the brewed pumpkin and the hops! There is light sweet tobacco, chicory, pecan pie, and clove. — 10 years ago
Lots of malts n shit for an ipa I guess — 10 years ago
Unbelievable. This is a reconstruction of a blend from 100 years ago. An unreal combination of a lowland, peaty malt with hints of sherry components you'd expect from Speyside or Highland malts. One of the most surprising scotches I've ever had. Awesome! — 10 years ago
Perfect example of a ESB, toasted caramel malts, off set by fruity earthly hops, Very good — 9 years ago
Auburn color. Rich aromas of honeycomb, dried cherries, menthol, figs, and sweet marmalade. Oily mouthfeel, ever so slightly hot on the tongue, dry tannins. Palate mimics the nose, with additional maraschino cherries, plum, malted barley, and freshly baked sponge cake. Heavy body, medium ++ finish. One of the nicest sherry finished single malts I've had! — 9 years ago
Outstanding Scotch Ale, big toasted and roasted malts, hints of chocolate, drinks like velvet, Fantastic!!!! — 10 years ago
One of the best malts! — 10 years ago
Aged in sherry butts. One of the great Speyside single malts. At a cask strength of 59 to 62% alcohol it readily stands up to ice. Cherries, apricot, prune, oak, malt, maybe orange, with a chocolate finish. No matter the batch, always one of my favs. — 10 years ago
What a brew! Creamy, intense espresso backed with milk and dark chocolate. Licorice, tar and malt to drive this one home. Holy shit 👌👌👌👌👌 — 10 years ago
Dankness, orange rind, pineapple, guava. Light malts, medium body. Velvety texture, fresh, little bitterness. Outstanding balance. One of the best IPA's available. — 10 years ago
Mitchell Mulder
Probably the best IPA this brewery produces, a company Secret of their farm raised hops, adds to The intrigue and tasty IPA, Grapefruit citrus and pine, nice of balance malts, a very good beer in the style — 9 years ago
