Second bottle of this vintage - six months apart. Decanted for an hour left us with a nice opening salvo. Mocha, dense cherry, soft waves of black fruit. A pleasure. — 6 years ago

@Ted Corvey Held onto it as long as I could. That's not to say I was saving it, but I just was waiting for the right time. Tonight was that time. I took refuge from the hordes playing Pokemon outside and cracked this bottle and poured a glass. Despite the deep purple robe, it doesn't even do the flavor justice. Humongous waves of plum, blackberry, and black cherry give way into cayenne with a hint of something I can't quite put my nose on. Huge tannins leave the palette simultaneously dry and salivating. It's a great wine, only deducted points because it's not my preferred style. Still, this is a wine to be respected. — 10 years ago
Dark red/purple to red rim. Red apple skin, rose, dried sour cherry on nose after 30 minutes in the glass, more iron and paint thinner when first opened. Medium acidity, waves of iron, earth and spice in the mouth, subtle fruit, slightly bitter and peppery finish. — 10 years ago

Seriously!!! Oh my F WoW! Good luck finding it, when you do drink as much as you can! — 11 years ago
Waves of green & ripe things. None of that sticky passion fruit, but plenty of passion. #pfalz #sauvignonblanc #vonwinning — 11 years ago
Hay gold with ample microscopic bubbles for its age. The effervescence is refreshing and far from piquant or harsh. On the nose almonds and brioche dominate. Starts with stewed quince, apple blossom, and pleasant acidity that crescendos through mid palate. Waves of toast and fresh baked croissant enter by mid and are joined by chocolate for the long finish. The only negative is the overly assertive acidity throughout, might be an indication that this vintage is almost past prime. Still an amazing champagne. — 12 years ago
😙 sour sour sour, but delicious 🤤 — 5 years ago
Though not the same as it was pre-COVID -19, a handful of us were able to gather (while keeping our distance) to celebrate being back together and opened some fun wines to share. Wine is always better with good company.
The ‘04 has always been a favorite of mine, but this is really close. Aromatically, it is decadent and seductive. Sweet and ripe red, blue and black fruits dipped in fondue chocolate, with graham cracker and espresso, but also a charcoal/graphite like mineral note. It is silky on the palate with waves of more chocolate dipped fruits, nutmeg, Mexican vanilla and dust all wrapped in a rich profile that is still elegant and balanced. Wicked nose. Tropical but layered with savoury spice, lemon, stones. The acidity drives this wine forward, but it swirls, through waves of citrus, peach, and judicious oak. This really benefited from air. After 30-45 mins a grippy, mineral structure revealed itself, balancing it out and sharpening its focus. The finish is outstanding. A real gem. — 7 years ago
This wine transports me to the tropics. Pineapple, banana, coconut, a little lemon on the back end to cut the sweetness. I envision myself drinking this in Costa Rica after a long day at the beach, with the sea and salt still in my hair, and the pleasant residue of slight vertigo caused by the waves. Everything great Bordeaux should be. Cork crumbled in the Durand but first sniff and I knew it was on. Waves of saddle leather, tobacco, cedar, forrest floor and cherries. The wine was intense but more feminine than I expected, a great balance. Truly one of the best and most memorable bottles I've had the last few years. This is what drinking wine is all about, experiences that shake you to your core. — 11 years ago
Wow! Zesty, got straight up dryed lemongrass with lemon juice, pith and a hard under ripe apricot and pith, and wild white flowers, that's pours acid all over your tongue that cascades with waves of minerality, the weight, the texture, the acid, so on point.
Sure to be a benchmark. — 11 years ago
Love this old old vine cuvee. Complex nose of mid season cherry fruit, florals, huge rocky minerals and rock dust, some game, and lovely dust. So good. Smells ethereally complex. Like a Gamay forest. Palate is deep, deep, deep and so pure with incredible freshness and mineral energy that cleanses the palate. So juicy. Terrific, grainy and caressing tannins. This is a terrific Godefroy that has a very long life ahead of it. Really great depth and serious midpalate density. But the freshness and waves of energy on the finish are what make this wine extra special. — 6 years ago

I’m lost in the majestic waves of the Albariño. An enthusiastic aroma of ocean air. Flowery Citrus on the front. Slight sourness on the edges as well and it’s pleasant. Maybe sour peaches. And the a crisp finish 👌🏼 — 7 years ago
Organic 54.95. Still floral and herbal with loads of fruit. Concentration. Depth of flavors. Unusual style. Legth. Bit oxidative style. Lot of waves of dried fruits. — 8 years ago
Unfortified Fino showing much lower alcohol. If this style were more prevalent & available, I think I'd be all over it regularly. Electric & bright. Each sip more lively than the last. Aromatically, this comes at you in waves. Lemon & tarragon notes weave together across the nose. A unique & amazing bottle of wine. — 9 years ago

More fruit driven and powerful than the Bindi Original. Ripe fleshy cherry notes. Silky mouthfeel. Through the waves of fruit there is also a reasonable level of tannin and acid which will carry it into the future. A class act. — 10 years ago
Rich, tropical and nutty, this wine crashes onto the palate with waves of kiwi and strawberry, passion fruit, grapeskin, and hay. It finishes round and full with malolactic flavors of toffee, butterscotch, and vanilla. Could age. — 11 years ago
It was born as a heavy weight Jurassic indeed, tidal waves of flavor stoney fruit as hell, fresh young white peach pith, with clarified butter accents , quince paste texture, baked golden apple skins! Lemon chiffon cake dry backside, it lures me in paired well w/
Ahi , but might pair better with cake or lighter fish barramundi or tilefish — 11 years ago
2003 Vintage. This one is amazing! Clear medium garnet with thin watery rim. Clean on the nose still showing a lot of youth and potential. Pronounced flavours of raspberry, blackcurrant, layers of vanilla, spice and leather with a hint of strawberry. Dry on the palate with high smooth tannin, full structured body, medium alcohol with balancing medium+ acidity. Flavours lead with spice and leather but adds on vanilla, raspberry, blackcurrant in waves and goes into a long, complex finish. Very good quality. Aged for 10 years still showing potential to grow. Drink now, but can age even more. — 12 years ago

2016. 9.4+. Ferragamo Super Tuscan, mostly merlot. Modern in style but so damn good, better than the 2015. Enormous, intense waves of raspberry and blackberry fruit balanced by just enough viscosity, leather and acid to keep it beguiling. Outstanding mouthfeel - every sip is an experience, and evokes some of the best young Bordeaux. It’s all there - will be stellar as it evolves. Steal at $43. — 5 years ago
