Colli Orientali Friuli Pinot Bianco

Ok ok, I know - "how good could a white wine really be?!" Well rarely do I give a white wine this high a score, and definitely not a Pinot Bianco of all things, but THIS bottle hit ALL of the right chords for me. Beginning with a lovely nose of Meyer lemon, honeysuckle, ripe apples and peach, the palate is where it really wows. It has a vibrancy unlike many whites I've had recently. Zingy, refreshing, and robust all at the same time. This is a wine that wakes your palate up instead of putting it to sleep. At this price point, go find yourself a case! — 8 years ago

Venezia Giulia Franconia 2014

Ripe plums, blackberries and blueberries with savory brown spice, and black olive. Pretty violets in rich black soil. A combination of ripe and underripe blueberries and blackberries on the palate with a hint of silky tannin. Delicious and totally stunning for under $20. — 9 years ago
