Great wine in our room having some wine and cheese for dinner. It was a great buy and really hit the spot. I think this will be a trip of “risk and reward”. So what is the price point and how good is it???? This is a really nice wine. Would have it again for sure. — 8 years ago
This was really good but definitely still young. I imagine this will be stunning in ten years. Wines like this really make me appreciate cab franc. — 8 years ago
Good fruit , astringent and good acids . Your to be expected Silver Oak..... Big, lush , fruit forward and good acids — 8 years ago
1999 - High altitude Nebbiolo as good as it gets. Fresh and lively at 17 yrs. Dried rose petal, crushed raspberry, leather and tar. Brilliant cut and length. — 9 years ago
Pure classic light young Nebbiolo. Good now, bet it would be better/more 3* in a couple. — 10 years ago
Best Pinot ever! Could possibly be almost as good if not better then the mourvedre from Sort this out — 10 years ago
Not quite dry enough for my taste but a very good wine. — 7 years ago
Gotta be really careful here. This bottle is as good. Not 9.8 good. The complex blackberry cassis, pencil shavings, herbal front is incredible. This doesn't resemble an 07 Howell Mtn. Would have guessed 11 or 12. Pride Brother and Sister PNV outdid this wine by a narrow margin, but I don't think I've had many 9.5+ bottles in 20 years and nearly 2600 bottles. The power and peppery black licorice finish just kept going and going. OMG. Not worthy!!! — 7 years ago
Mmm this is gunna be good. It's tight and shut down at the moment, but this has a dark purple hue to it - way more color than previous vintages of d'Armailhac that I've had. Some cedar and graphite mixed with herbs and black fruit on the nose. Palate isn't as tannic as expected, but definitely needs more time to hit its stride. Very well-made however - I bet with a 3-hr decant it'd be fab. Good value as most of the '14's have been. — 7 years ago
A luscious promise in a bottle, rich, boldly aromatic and loaded for bear with cocoa powder and oaky tannins. It tasted like the early morning earth smelled on my last bike ride through Yountville flats. So primary, like just bottled. May be as good as the Pedregal of '08 but we won't know for 5+ years. — 8 years ago
Lovely green notes and good concentration. Should be very nice in 5-10. — 9 years ago
So fresh so good.. Summer juice that you can drink all year, love #keifeandco — 10 years ago
A good bottle, which is a crap shot at the moment. Developed, white flowers, a touch of honey, good acidity. I'd like to leave for years but suspect it'd be a fools errand — 10 years ago
Supposed to be good — 11 years ago
Very nice pontensac - now past it's peak but still offering great nose and length. Not very tannic - very smooth. Has a nice earthy aroma! I would recommend decanting this wine for two hours. It would be a good idea to buy a case or two of the 2003/2009/2010 vintages! — 11 years ago
At 17 years of age full of vim and vigour. A perfect mature blend of currant and mocha (oak). Almost resolved tannins but will be good in another 5 years at least. This is the last of a dozen bought on release. Very Good. Better than the 2000 and not quite as good as the excellent 2002. — 7 years ago
Damn. Still rockin strong. Like Dave in the good years. I fooled my wife into thinking it might be old world/ that all the praise you need to know. — 7 years ago
My first Turley, won't be my last.
Smooth fruit. Not too sweet which is a good thing. Velvety finish — 8 years ago
Nice tempranillo with a subtle oaky flavor. Medium bodied. I would like it to be more structured but still good never the less — 8 years ago
Funny story, we ordered the bottle of wine on the line after this bottle on the menu. The waiter brought this bottle as a mistake which we found out was listed as a $485 bottle of wine! We took one sip and knew that it was too good to be true. Come to find out that this is one of the first super tuscan wines ever made. Even though management took the bottle from our table as soon as it was realized, that was the luckiest and most delicious mistake that's ever happened to us. — 8 years ago
From a 3 liter, about 10 years after "PD" suggested it was to be at its best. (This was a gift from my 21st birthday and the cork was beginning to show seepage so time to drink!). Seriously good stuff. The boozy side of Zin has settled, the structure and savory notes of the Petite Sirah and Mataro are emerging. Looking forward to this with grilled meat, lobster and whatever else we can cook up outside. @ridgevineyards #legend — 9 years ago
Good. You can lock me up anytime wth this wine. I'll be your Prisoner — 9 years ago
Amazing wine. If it's drinking this good this soon, I can't imagine how good it will be in three, five or ten years! — 10 years ago
2011. Blanc. No one drinks enough of this. That's because there are so few things to which its a good partner, but it would be an incredible cheese-and-charcuterie wine. Broad and oily, there's just enough acid to keep you coming back for more. Sun-baked yellow orchard fruits dominate, but there's more exotic fruits too (mango and dried pineapple) yellow flowers, tons of almond husk bitterness, green olives, bay leaf, oregano, tarragon, white cheddar. Oak is assertively present but not overwhelming. Place dominates over grapes here, as it's a mix of Clairette and Grenache Blanc and a hodge-podge of other things. — 10 years ago
Pippali, bright black cherry, currant type fruit. Roast chestnut. Riper year it seems though no overripeness and totally fresh. A touch of fig maybe. Very well balanced with good acid. Seems to just be approaching secondary development. Awesome. Incense and secondary tobacco (stems?). — 11 years ago
Daniel Porter
Very young. Needs 3-5 years to round the tannins. High acidity. Fruit is very nice. Lots if bing cherries. Will be very good in a few years or with a long decant. — 7 years ago
