Cherry, violet, hay, a tiny touch of licorice too. This is quite exciting and profound. The palate is showing a massive acid backbone, some width and grip, some cherry notes, but the fruit is a little discreet. There are tannins popping up in the rear, disturbing the mouthfeel, powering up a tangy finish with cherry and a nice bitter note along with a tiny salty touch, almost sea breezesque if that makes sense. This is a serious beaujo, very different from fruit bombs and other crowd-pleasing usual expressions that people tend to rave about. This is gastronomy wine and playing in the same league as some other wines from a different varietal that grow a bit farther to the north. — 10 months ago

Lovely and aging well. Very smooth and bright with cherry notes but not overly so. Earthly and interesting but still light. — 4 years ago

Pours mahogany in color. ON THE NOSE: blackberry, plum, cola. ON THE PALATE: tingles the palate, great tannin backbone. Earth, leather, plum. Medium body long finish. — 8 years ago

-creamier finish once open, more lemon curd but still very bright, minerality
-very complex, with more time getting more sugars and honey — 2 years ago
Excellent. Shows all the best reasons why 2019 is an outstanding vintage for white Burgundy. Not only is there lots of gorgeous and perfectly ripe fruit, you have perfect acidity and a clear mineral core to this wine. Layers of ripe orchard apples and pears, toasted almond all awash in a beautiful saline and salty finish. — 3 years ago
Interesting expression here, quite front-loaded with oak, but very exotic and floral on the finish. White flowers and passion fruit. Very unique. A delicate, detailed style — 5 years ago
Super bright. White blossom. Saturated minerality. Classy oak. — 8 years ago
Subtle tannic dry, oak light alkali nose. ..one of my favorites. — 8 years ago
Baked apples and honey for days. Clocks in 20 g/L RS, but the acid on that finish won't tell you so. — 9 years ago

2002 vintage. Last tasted 12.10.23. Rated that a 9.1. Decanted and tasted multiple times over the course of 1.5 hours. That great silvery color upon decanting. Infinitesimal sed. Still, the big orange peel flavors but better harmony and balance than the previous specimen two months ago. Bottle was in great shape. 2.4.24. — 9 months ago
”Super premier cru” Tête du Clos is sourced from an old vine parcel in the upper part of Morgeot. Kind of like Chapelot of MDT. Just like the bottle I had in September, it’s electric tonight with killer yellow fruit intensity, a stunningly elegant texture, stony minerality and ripping citrusy acids. There’s such tension and drive on the palate that takes the fruit and minerality all the way home. Love these wines. — 2 years ago
Good and very cherry but not as much as some other younger wines. Not sure if I like this more than the other higher end petite sirahs of theirs. — 4 years ago
