Vin de Rouge simple table wine recommended by my favorite wine shop in Iowa City!
Open to thoughts on this wine! The bottle says 2019 BUT the cork says 2011 and has a pretty moderate amount of sediment! @Severn Goodwin @Eric L. @David L @Mike R
Interesting; this taste like a combination of cherry black licorice liqueur, potpourri, cherry pie, black tea leaves, graphitet wet soil, boysenberry, eucalyptus, almost sweet, no tannins!
I am leaning towards the 2011! Thoughts? 🤷♀️🤔
I tried to put the vintage as 2112..Delectable would not go for it! Yep..my generation check!

Gorgeous gold color; rich aroma; definitely showing it’s age with honeyed lemon taste. Slight bitterness, but very enjoyable. Last bottle, which is probably a good thing since this may be just over the hill. — 6 years ago
$45 bottle; was much lighter than other CdP, more like a Pinot. — 6 years ago

I couldn't recognize it, only one of the reviews below gave me a hint. A rosemary. Of course it's rosemary! :) And besides: red fruit and pepper (finish). Very good, robust wine. — 4 years ago
A lot going on the nose. Red fruit, black fruit, meat, leather. Would be a good wintertime wine. Too bad they’re sold out at Kermit Lynch. Devin gave it 💯 — 5 years ago
Excited to check in on this! Harmonious, lengthy, and heady with its perfume. Great memories of tastings with Bobby at my old job, this cuvée named after his son was always a highlight. To me it really focuses on the synergy that old vine Grenache and Mourvèdre can have. There’s a perfect balance of soaked red and black fruits, garrigue, and an exotic spice savoriness that I just love. Structural compliment is there, with the Mourvèdre’s tannic backbone countering the mid-palate weight of the Grenache. As with many 2012s in the Rhône, this has such a great personality, a match of elegance and richness that bring so much joy in the glass. Perfect for turkey day! — 5 years ago
