Elegant, well aged Rioja with cigar box bouquet and feel. Reminds me of Gran Reservas from back to 1955. Lighter body which I prefer now that I am older. — 9 years ago
Spicy, big Argentinian Malbec that's a great value. It's my go to house wine and quite good given you can find it in most stores. Many of the Uco valley vineyards (harsher climate than the rest of Mendoza) with good reservas can be hard to find in the U.S. I like the 2010/11 vintages better than the 2012 — 11 years ago
Not super impressed. Very light bodied almost hollow. Much better after 3 hour in decanter. medium low acidity made food pairing not ideal. After a string of awesome imperial gran reservas it's hard to get excited. That said - it's a very well made wine and enjoyable in an off year for rioja alta — 11 years ago
One of the better reservas I’ve had recently. Big but not overdone, the ripe cherry, pepper, and vanilla notes are prominent but harmonious. Well-rounded. — 8 years ago
Holy shit, this wine was tasty. Easy, easy drinking wine better than the reservas in my humble opinion. Buy it by the case for the summer. — 9 years ago
Takes me back to my days living in Lisbon - 2004-2006. Nice field blended Douro tinto. Over the years, the style of the non-reserve wines has started to resemble the international style of their bigger brother reservas, which IMHO is unfortunate. I always liked the more rustic style of the non-reserve wines. Still a very good wine, perfect with a gamey steak, lamb or even pizza. — 9 years ago
My first wine on this wine journey! Smelled like fruit but more just like alcohol. It tasted much better than it smelled - fruity and suuuuper smooth. Doesn't seem very tannic or acidic. I've been told it's unstructured, so I kind of want to try reservas now. I love it compared to the stuff I've had before (very cheap); this is in another league! — 10 years ago
Great wine, harmonious with notes of cherry... — 8 years ago
Excellent fruit intensity and purity. it has better freshness than most Rioja Reservas and not as commercial-tasting , even though it is a commercial wine. — 8 years ago
Dark purple in color. Smooth, not too complex. Easy to drink. Fair amount of sediment. Especially for a bottle less than ten years old. Cune, was founded in 1879 and is one of Spain's oldest and finest bodegas. Gran Reservas are very uncommon and account for a small percentage of the wine produced in the Rioja region. — 9 years ago
Perhaps needed a decant. Great wine but not showing markedly different than the reservas. Seemed remarkably young. — 10 years ago
This 2008 does not have the complexity or depth of the 2004 and 2005 Campo Viejo Gran Reservas. The nose does have nice molasses notes and it starts well. There is some bitterness in the middle with a mostly acid, although long, finish. — 10 years ago
Sister 2001 Rioja Reservas tonight. This one incredible on the nose, rainy woodpile, mushrooms. Even better mouthfeel. Elegant, ancient mariner. — 11 years ago
Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon e Syrah criam este Reseva '11 com uma cor profunda e de aromas a frutos pretos. Bastante elegante. A comprar sem reservas. — 12 years ago
