Stags Leap Manor, as it was called in the 1920s, was known as one of the prominent country retreats in the Napa Valley at a time when resort and spa business was big. Straw yellow, with stone fruit and citrus aromas and toasty notes. On the palate melon, pineapple and pear, fresh & crisp with notes of smoky oak, a bit creamy. Lingering finish with wet stone and minerality character, well balanced, stays crisp on ending. Nice! — 7 years ago

Nice red blend...a bit on the light side, but great complexity. Enjoyed at the Victoria Jungfrau Hotel & Spa. — 6 years ago
A very solid primitivo - quite fresh on the nose, but much riper in the mouth. Rich and full bodied, with a jammy and spiced finish. — 6 years ago

Darker amber color than the Rkatsiteli and more like getting your tongue swabbed full-on with a cotton mitt, K Spa-style. Je l'aime! — 8 years ago

At restaurant La Torretta Chianciano in the hills of Tuscany. This is a spa town with some therapeutic springs. Wine list €16 price was an acceptable wine at this price point. Made our own tasting menu...some hits and some misses. — 6 years ago

Anniversary choice at the incomparable Lake Austin Spa with my wonderful Laurie. Of course, this augments the experience but nonetheless, the doctor finds this an eminently palatable wine. Dances lightly at first on the tongue and nose but a long lingering depth is surprising. Just a dab of sweetness remains. Would order again in a heartbeat. — 9 years ago
2nd Anniversary at The Allison Inn & Spa & Jory Restaurant Newberg, OR. Fantastic wine list, but we had to go w the Pingus. Enjoyed Aug 2011 — 9 years ago

New Years Eve at The Farm Restaurant, Carneros Resort and Spa. Opened some of my favorite wines: Marcassin Chardonnay, 2012 with oysters and caviar and salmon dish. Structure of wine is layered with apricot-orange, floral blossoms, lemon, cedar and vanilla. The Next of Kyn, 2013 Syrah blend paired nicely with the Wellington beef. Covers the pallet with dark blackberry, licorice and chocolate changing in taste as it opened up. Tannins still present but not over powering. Both wines deserve a 9.5 rating with plenty of age left on them. — 5 years ago
