From a Tutto spec sheet: A blend of roughly equal parts of Verdeca from Cristiano’s vineyards, along with a little Fiano and Malvasia from an old organic vineyard in Gioia. The grapes are macerated as whole bunches for a week before being pressed off for a short élevage in porcelain amphorae. A beautiful shade of peach in the glass, this is wonderfully floral and impresses with plush stone fruits, a hint of tannin and a clean, mineral finish.

Nose and taste is full with mineral notes, subtle but very present and overwhelming pine tree notes, like walking through pine tree forests in 30 degree celsius Summer days. Clear, medium yellow colour.

On the nose citrus peel of medium intensity, especially lemon and orange. Strong minerality of volcanic rocks, expression of the soil where the grapes are grown.

Dry with high acidity on the palate and medium body. Nice pear flavour.

So I must be honest. I’m only opening this to taste because it was obviously made for me! Pear apple cider bread pudding nose. Crisp citrus pomelo acidity. Pair with pears and hazelnut encrusted baked Brie. So glad this one lives up to my name! — 6 years ago
