Really amazing nose. Black fruit, Asian spice, bloody meat, cedar, cigar box all in unison. Sweet med-full bodied, focused blackberry, cedar and bay leaf spice. Quite tannic - Some sourness on the aftertaste - plenty of life left. A bit disjointed at the moment. — 9 years ago
Larkmead nailed it in 2013! The nose on the LMV Salon showed intense red raspberry, minerals, blueberry skins, sweet tobacco and minty herbs. On the palate, it displayed silky textures with pulsing minerality contrasted by ripe fruits. Black currant, cherry, and blueberry were all present, yet seemed to play in perfect unison. A sensation of classic structure and tannin defined the finish, along with notes of cherry, herbs, minerals, and dark chocolate. Simply gorgeous. — 9 years ago
Not sure where I got this from. Floral, graphite and mud on the nose. Quite a steely mineral palate with big bright juiciness. Nice. — 10 years ago
From Avize, Corbon's Grand Grand Cru Brut Millésimé 2004 has spent eight years aging on the lees. The color of spring daffodils, it’s equally vibrant and joyous with little in the way of coaxing (me swirling the glass) rich aromas of warm croissant, salt water taffy, roasted nuts, brown butter and dried apples unfurl in happy unison. A lovely, fine mousse leads into a wine that is equally endowed with weighty texture and crisp acidity. It ends on a clean, slightly chalky note. — 10 years ago
Juicy blackberry, currant, and plum flavors in unison with olives, violets, and cedar. Smooth, restrained, and a ridiculous value. Can't think of another CA cab that offers this much character and pleasure for the price. Thanks @Paul Stroud! — 9 years ago
1974: Nice presence of sweet cherry fruit at the center of each sip. Bottle in admirable shape, with plenty to ponder and enjoy in unison. Reflective of how mature Barolo finds its own company to keep, since it paired well with the risotto. Held up while well, while evolving in the glass. — 9 years ago
Classic Loire crunch. All three varietal components share the stage in unison. Bright and clean, as can be expected of '13. — 10 years ago
2012 vintage. Beautiful nose smells of cherry blossom, and spice box, Volnay like. The mid palate is strikingly fresh, and pure offering tart cherry, candied orange peel, and cranberry. The wine has power and finesse in perfect unison. The fruit tones are very fine tune on the long finish. This is the art of balance. — 10 years ago
Yes yes yes! Outstanding value and drinks like a far more expensive wine! — 10 years ago
What a treat, tonight I have been given the pleasure of opening this 2002 Staglin family 20th Anniversary Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. This was sent to me by a very good friend to try and I don't know how I got so lucky to be afforded this opportunity. I am keeping an open mind and going to rate this as honestly as I possibly can.
Upon opening there was a bit of an alcohol aroma, so I figured I better let it set for a bit to open up and see if the alcohol blows off. After about an hour it did just that and the aromas became very pronounced.
On the nose I am getting wonderful black fruit, blackberry, black cherry, black plum, cassis, molasses and licorice.
My anticipation of the first taste was palpable. Upon the first sip the dark fruit washes over the palate with black cherry, blueberry, ripe plum, cassis, there are notes of black pepper, licorice and a nice supple finish of black tea.
This wine has medium + acidity and silky medium + tannins. I can say the balance of this wine is totally in unison with a long savory finish.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to have tried such an excellent wine. I can't say thanks enough. What a way to end the weekend. I can now look forward to the week ahead with great expectations.

Dark purple; cocoa, prune, ripe grape nose (13.5 alc); big body chewy; a little one dimensional; hard finish; needs time. — 9 years ago
1941- to realize this was grown during WWII - Wow - amazing. I wish every wine was this beautiful. So gentle and calm. Complete and approachable . Absolutely perfect. Wonderful light fruit and beautiful earth. Perfectly in unison like no other wine I have ever had — 10 years ago
