This is the James Bond of champagnes. It shows up in a tuxedo, but it has some top flight weapons to support a less-than-peaceful agenda. Celebrating with a 375 ml because that's the way it is these days. — 9 years ago
If you want a Zinfandel that delivers its elegance in a closed fist, here it is. It’s like a great looking guy wearing a tuxedo a half size too small. It’s ready for action, just not the action it was expecting. The nose is incredibly perfumed, shielding layer after layer of spice. There is a savory aspect here that tempers the fruit, a youthful exuberance that spits in the general direction of Perli and Gianoli vineyards. It’s a brash and brawny wine, with toothy tannins, enough to rope and hogtie a rowdy steer. It’s probably a bit much for the lentil soup, but fire up the grill and throw some rosemary in there with the beef. — 10 years ago

classics with the in-laws. I should make a show called that "tonight on 'classics with the in-laws', a 1999 Rothschild medoc..." accompanied by classical piano and well cooked meat. a totally unrelated beverage to my normal Jura reds, but enjoyable like a tuxedo and a pizza. — 12 years ago

Smooth and rich, with subtle fruits. Nice for sipping without food. — 9 years ago
It's good in a tuxedo too — 10 years ago
Pure cassis and blackberry. Dark chocolate powder. Smoke. Stunning purity and balance, beautiful line of acidity, with a nose more old than new world. Would beat bottles 2x the price blind, has 10+ years to go. NB: the ladies insisted that Riedel rename this decanter, as Tuxedo doesn't quite capture its impression on the gang, particularly after a few glasses... — 10 years ago

Delicate aromas of toasted marshmallow creme, vanilla bean carmel, and lemon creme with a pink grapefruit hint awaken your palate. There is a white peach/apricot on its nose, with a subtle lemon grass/orange peel on its finish — 11 years ago

Great Georgian toast is to your neighbor - he is the most important, especially if you moved into new place.
Here are neighbors from one river banks, but different countries. Sogevinus Fine Wines & Bodegas Emilio Moro - made this opulent, rich and silky wine. Elegant fruit, wrapped into noble oak, great wine -with each sip I can contemplate about toasts wisdom - vostok delo tonkoe.
Maybe missing a bit of length, but I forgive them, the balance is perfect. Don't expect claws, this is tuxedo dress code. — 11 years ago

Very tightly wound right now. I'm not certain how anyone can rate this wine correctly right now but for me this one is a 93/94 right now. Powerful, dense, dark baking chocolate, blackberry cassis with a lot of pepper and a lot of tannin on the finish. 100% tuxedo, but with a very stiff tannic finish. Full bodied wine without a doubt. This one has the makings of a 96/97 in probably 10 years, but I do think that quite a bit of this wine was masked in the tannin which wasn't all that off-putting. For those who like to drink them really young and don't mind the tannic 'iron curtain' shutting down the show, this one is probably a 98 right NOW and it truly is an excellent display of the power of St. Helena and the talent of Melka. Would love to own one of these so that I could see how it develops over the next 15-20 years. — 8 years ago
