Snagged this Sonoma North Coast 2014 fine thing at my local shop, in Morehead City, NC. Did same with a Jersey Mike's turkey sub sporting everything but for pickles. As corporate as that might read, I nonetheless suggest you do same - or something similar thereto. Most know how groovy Pinot Noir is with turkey, so, whether you have access to a crazy cool loaf of northern Cali sour dough and a fresh turkey from the wild or you are doing a JM #7, like me on another coast, this maroon draped fineness will likely turn your head, tilt the bottle, and pour over and over as you work your way through a full-benefit sandwich drenched by this gorgeous liquid lady bathed in boysenberry, cherry and blueberry that has snuggled with seemingly new but proper oak wrapped in Merlin's seaborne magic mist lending the upper oceanside forest's wet, wild spice exaggerated with each spin and spill that clings and lingers righteously reckoning with Quicksilver's vintage plea - " have another hit..."

The only thing better than this Bressler today was the company of my friends, family, gorgeous wife, daughter & grand daughter!!! Wine truly encapsulates an event and I could not think of a better way to highlight this Fathers day than to uncork a beautiful vintage that I've been saving for a special occasion. I killed 4 bottles of Bressler today. It was my 1st time tasting his 2013. Absolutely freaking amazing. Big, bold, Rich and opulent. Bob Bressler is a master at his craft. I've never lead any of you wrong before in regards to wines that I am passionate about. No Bullshit: buy this. Freaking amazing! I was snapping necks all day!! People would immediately turn and say "Holy shit, what is this!?!?!". I've said this a thousand times but I'll say it again: Bressler flys under the radar. Snatch up as much as you can right from the winery at a great price. Bob is a badass winery owner and loves it when you call!! Call on Tuesday since I'll be calling on Monday for another case and want to be sure that he has capacity!!!! Believe me., you won't regret it!!
This was the wine of the day and everything else we enjoyed was such a distant 2nd that I won't even post them! Bob deserves today's title of being the "Bad ass in a glass " wine of the night! Bravo my friend @Bob Bressler !!!!! — 8 years ago
Interesting Drink, it has a lot going on. Each sip seems to change for the better. Nose is off though , straight out of the bottle it has an odd aroma. Good amount of acid which may turn some off. Complex mixtures of grapes makes this very interesting to me. Watch out though because it drinks very easily and you blow through the bottle quickly leaving you wanting more. — 9 years ago
Occhipinti Siccagno Nero d'Avola 2013
She came on dark turning rubyesque, a spin and first kiss, dripping red from my lip to my white linen cuff, not unlike the juicy explosion of a ripe blackberry, her color and allure dancing in the decanter, then leaning closer, more warmly spilling into my glass, she dips and turns, another spin, I breathe her in and her earthen essence laced lightly but luxuriously in red and black fruit lingers and lures me to drink, her acid does a balancing act with a purple plum preponderance her tannins squeeze holding the moment, we go deeper, darker until she dives disrobing as she rolls, slides, sideslips and seduces another dance, another turn, another twist - "and the band plays on..." For the love of the juice🍷🕶🌀
PS: kale salad @ Il Palio, in Chapel Hill is brilliant! Don't miss that place when there, or, make it a destination - digging their grilled octopus, too🍷🕶🌀 — 9 years ago
On family vacation to SoCal, dad took a day off from Disney to cruise over to Wine Club in Santa Ana. Spent some time w/ Tim O'Grady and asked him to make me a mixed case of stuff that could be daily drinkers or more manageable price points. First wine out of the case was Meyer cab (who knew this would turn out to be a wine made by TRB?) and the Alto Moncayo was second. Wow, just great and affordable. Fruit forward, velvety, luscious, easy. Got home and bought another six. This was the baby brother of Moncayo's 100 pointer. — 10 years ago
Moving on to new world wine. At first the nose was oyster-Er-y. Then after a bit, the berries came out to play, and now....it throttled up and kicked me in my face. We then put it up to a Chocolate Mouse pairing and this sucker hung in there. Huge fruit, good amount of acidic value that compliments the fruit. Gimme more! I'll a half a case placement from Noble!!! $11.99 Noble509 — 10 years ago
Sweet, delicious, very nice with sushi.

I have had Meiomi before but an earlier vintage like 2010. It made me turn my head at a good QPR that I new I would come back for more. The nose opens up wit bright red fruit, strawberry, red raspberry, there is a sweet spice not and a light smokey campfire note. On the palate there is lots of big red fruit that comes forward. Sweet strawberry, savory red raspberry, wonderful smooth creamy mouth feel with vanilla and a nice acidity. There is a good long finish with spice right at the end. For $17 bones the QPR is right on. — 11 years ago
I wish it was winter so that I could turn this wine into ice blocks and skate on it, and in the spring time it'd melt and I'd drink from it. It's magical. It's laughing at me. I wanna stick my dick in it. — 7 years ago
Slight brick hue on the edges. Very tight upon opening with shy granberries and red currants on the nose. Taste is dominated by tannins and very cool red berries. After 5h slow-ox wine starts to open, nose gets more sweeter sensations and some spices and leather. Tannins turn sweeter and the fruit really picks up gaining intensity and wine is a joy to drink. However it still tends to close a bit on the glass. To me this is atleast 3-5 years from peak — 8 years ago
Wow... Lots going on here. No red fruits here. Black. Musty. You know when you turn over a log in the woods and you see and smell that mossy, white, soily, stuff... that's the nose and taste of this. Mashed leaves. Ashy. Nice chewy tannins. I bet another 2 years or so in the bottle will perfect the slight bit of ending heat left over. Really really great. One of the best in months for me.
93 points
UPDATED: As of 6/13, I've had a few bottles of this and cannot get to 93 points. Need to demote to 91. — 8 years ago
Not my usual juice, but getting a first blush, as a second wine, @ Kyle's Full Circle, in Morehead City, NC (do not miss his fish, salads, and brick oven pizza among other things - world class in tiny local coastal setting), on a crisp December coastal evening. Back to the wine - purple goes burgundy then maroon, on the rim ( and my white cashmere), blue berry and spice post a twist, a turn and a nose hit, but something deserving more time, she lingers like a first truffle dance making me think, ponder, then pour a little in my mouth, where she spreads her butterscotch wings (from where did that come) her reach, her...depth soothingly painting front to back, unctuously hangin round, long and luscious... I'm anticipating a swan dive, but, instead she slowly sneaks over the edge, clutching every crevice - damn! Spin and spill again and again - you'll dig it - "dance to the music..." (vintage Sly & The Family Stone & me)...✌🏻️💙🍷🌀 — 8 years ago
I love this producer and always purchase my entire Red allocation. Like an idiot & for the life of me I have no idea why I never picked up their white.this gorgeous bottle was provided by my friend @David A Lentine !!! Thank you so very much for making me turn the page! I know see they are a great white wine producer. This particular wine has 3 grape varietals that makes your senses sing and dance. The nose is opulent like a Chardonnay with globs of fruit on the palate & a finish that encapsulates it all perfectly together.
Wow, I will never miss another allocation! I highly reccomende this to everyone.
Very well crafted , beautiful wine. Thank you my friend! — 9 years ago
I really like it when I get recos from fellow oenophiles which turn out to be spot on - @Jörgen Lindström Carlvik, take a bow.
In the glass, the wine appears to be very extracted, which I find is a pleasant first indicator. The wine coats the glass, demanding your attention.
The nose is pristine, yet urgent. Cigar notes, cherries and dark fruits are perfectly integrated.
On the palette, I'm in raptures. This is a seamless example which is tight, compact and dense. It has a viscous mouthfeel, finishing with polished tannins and a touch of sweetness.
This is a brilliant effort, which is begging for bottle age. Thanks to Jorgen, I've finally found a Sangiovese which does not require me to sell my house to buy a bottle (you get my point).

APPEARANCE
This Champagne wine is clear in appearance, with medium gold color intensity. The mouse is fine with persistent bubble streams.
NOSE
This nose is clean, with medium+ aroma intensity of leesy notes like fresh baked bread, biscuit, a touch of cream and then fresh red apple. The nose is developing.
PALATE
The palate is dry, medium+ in acidity, with a medium body and alcohol. The flavor intensity is medium+ with the bread and biscuit notes following on from the nose, with a juicy acidity and fruit flavor that reminds me of fresh red apple and pear fruit slices and a beam of stony minerality. The finish is medium plus with a lingering chalky texture on the palate.
CONCLUSIONS
Outstanding quality, this "Grower" Champagne wine is precise, superbly fresh and balanced, with complex nuances. it does not try hard, but once you pay attention it is hard to turn away. This wine is ready to drink now, but has potential for aging. — 10 years ago
*ultimate pizza wine alert*
It's like a four-chair turn on The Voice, if the judges were all pies seeking their perfect match...stay with me...this one manages to have it all, from blk olive, bell pepper, pepperoni, even tart-sweet tomato and portobello. It's also juicy and begs another sip...yep, looks like it's got it all, so long as you've got the will to fork over a twenty to pair with your pie :/ — 11 years ago
The bottle that turn me on to Rhone. So good. All still there. — 7 years ago
I’ve never been a Pinot Gris fan, but I have to say, this wine was outstanding, even after all the reds we had on our Italian wine theme night. Would almost turn me....... but........would definitely have again!!! — 7 years ago
I have to steal from a previous comment: "Nebbiolo on steroids". Not to say it's necessarily "big" - it's not - it just has so fucking much going on, er, uh - I mean it's complex! Incredibly youthful, no bricking, little rim variation. Someone shoot me wow... — 8 years ago
Stunning potential @ £60 it's so macho gotta be so macho ... it's big & strong enough to turn me on 🎶... buy this wine 😍
🍷 Opaque deep ruby

👍 Big big potential loaded in this bottle 😍 — 8 years ago
Coming from another one of MANY, MANY, MANY Burg tastings were the crowd dislikes the wines!!!!! What do they know? There is no instant gratification with these and they are not sweetish NAPA Cabs. This one is really impressive. Tart now but will be awesome in 4-6 years. Denis Mortet is growing on me. There is a lot going on here dried basil, cherry, cranberries and power this wine will turn around and really surprise. Now tart chalky, cranberry underbrush. A good investment for burgundy price levels. — 8 years ago
2012 - $34
With 90% merlot, this beautiful, young wine exhibits mostly red fruits (cherry, raspberry) with leather, tobacco, spice box, and great structure to back it up! Needs some age and a few more dimensions to really turn me on. — 9 years ago
KWN #8. Pruney, raisiny. Almost port-like. Some pepper on the finish. This is starting to turn. Still ok but less than at its full potential. I held this way too long. Which worries me as I've got a half dozen other '06 Australian cabs and shiraz in the cellar. — 9 years ago
This is a very delicious value cab. It is on the bolder side, but for the price I have bought it over and over er because it pleases me! — 9 years ago
Cloud Break might turn me into a Chardonnay fan. Great wine to serve with cheese on a warm summer night. — 10 years ago
2011. Interesting this. Trying to hard to be fruity, but ultimately cannot escape the dominant vortex of Gruner's savory side. Definitely ripe at 14.5%, the wine is almost completely botrytis free. Pure, ripe green citrus (kefir, yuzu) as well as a steady tempo mid-line of ripe yellow and green apple, on the fringes lurk stranger tropical notes: pineapple rind, kiwi skin, green banana and green mango. There's that radish-and-lentil savoriness, shiso, fresh basil, tarragon. Chinese five spice chimes in (maybe the botrytis?) and pleasant Asprin-like bitterness on the back palate. There's an additional chemical note (SO2-related?) that reminds me of riesling's petrol, but it's really more like if someone had tried to turn the flavor of municipal pool water into a food, like a not unappealing chlorine snack. I know that's really weird, but it's what it made me think of...big without being baroque, and kept together by the acid and bitterness. Not a shy wine. The ambition and quality are obvious, but it's not harmonious at the moment. — 10 years ago
Vanessa Pritchard
Oooooh she was a luscious, round and clean little number! Fragranced with lots of yellow fruit and white flowers, it had an oily texture and a pristine finish. It tastes of a different era of their Trousseau Gris, to me - not a speck of dust on ‘er. From magnum. — 7 years ago
