There is something about Beckstoffer Georges III vineyard Cabernets that I almost always love. Like this wine, they almost always have a beautiful combination of black cherry and blueberry fruit in abundance. Maybe not as serious and structured as a To Kalon or a Dr. Crane cab, but so pleasurable and makes me so happy! — 6 years ago
Once again showing my patience very young but huge potential drinking ok now but will wait on rest — 9 years ago
2015 for dinner with grilled NY Steaks salt a pepper finish. Fruit on the wine complemented the fat full flavor of the beef but the harmonious touch of dried herbs and an earthiness of mouth feel came together. In a really big sensation of married flavors to hand you the real deal. Beautiful Cabernet. Great wine and flavor combination to remember. Excellent. No rush to dink this wine it has years. — 4 years ago

Really a very nice Napa Cabernet from a great vineyard site in a good drinking place age wise. On cork pop the oak was too overbearing - that sort of oaky sweetness that I don’t care for. But decanted for a couple hours as a result and quite nice after that. Deep violet in the glass. Deep dark fruit notes. Unmistakably Napa, for sure. Some glycerin feel. But a long finish with just enough acid to keep it together. I don’t often drink Napa cab, but on a fall day with burgers it’s hard to complain. — 4 years ago
Tasting really good. Smooth, full bodied. Will likely get better with a couple more years of age. — 6 years ago
Well done California Cab. Soft tannins, not overly oaked. — 9 years ago

2012 vintage. From the only other winery in Knights Valley besides that Peter Michael endeavor. This Beckstoffer To-Kalon/To Kalon/Tokalon/ToKalon (pick your interpretation-seen 'em all) goes for a older-school, much leaner approach vs the decided, new school, über-concentrated style as far as this vineyard is concerned. Goes even leaner than the older, vineyard incorporated Mondavi Reserves from the 80's/90's (which I would rate in the middle ground). All the way to the left for the history buffs. Tremendous concentration but on the dry, dusty, dirty side vs the biggie extracted ripe style in vogue the last decade+. Instructive and elucidating. Twere I doing a Tokalon Vineyard retrospective/blowout dinner, this wine would be first. 9.6.23. — 8 months ago
