Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Very fruity, delicious. Blackberry notes. Check this winery out next time you're in wine country. You won't be disappointed. And ask to meet Handy Andy. He's the winemaker. 😎 — 10 years ago

#bcwine #okanagan #nomnom 2012 Terravista 'Fandango' Albariño/Verdejo, Okanagan, BC. A stunning example of Spanish varieties outside of #spain. Bright with notes of pear, banana, peach and lemongrass. Racy acid on the finish. One of my favourite wines on this trek. #wine #sommelier #canada — 12 years ago

Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

2013 vintage, just brought back with us after seeing our friends at Maisonry in Yountville. Made the trek with us to Hanoi, lunar New Year's Eve in Vietnam. Still very young but Sunny loves the Tor Cabernet. Strong nose of black cherry, loved it. — 10 years ago

Herman Story

Nuts & Bolts California Syrah 2011

After our wonderful wine trek through the Central Coast, I opened the '11 Herman Story Syrah 'Nuts & Bolts' with dinner tonight. A big spicy Syrah with a hot spicy bowl of chili. A huge blast of tarry licorice, clove and blackberry assaulted the nostrils. Brambly ripe fruit and spice box flavors saturated the tongue. Not sure if the heat on the finish was from the chili or the wine. — 11 years ago

Juchepie, my beloved, why must I trek all the way to Paris to find you? — 12 years ago

Wild Boar Cellars

Malbec

A full bodied malbec that builds to a great finish with raspberry notes along the way. Not too tannic. Great wine and worth the trek to Leesburg if you're in DC. — 10 years ago

Yangarra Estate

McLaren Vale Shiraz 2011

My trek through Shiraz continues after a delightful Penfolds tasting. This is delightful and promises just what they advertise, finesse and rich texture. — 10 years ago
