Very good quality with a solid expression of its provenance and a good length. Bruised apples, yeast, bread, iodine and a dry chalkiness puts this right where it belongs a good concentration on the palate which could last longer. As all serious sherries it is performing well above its price which takes you the question that everyone ask themselves, why don’t I drink more sherry? — 6 years ago
A Tempranillo based wine from the Toro region made to be drunk young. Aromas of flowers and spices. Cooked strawberry, rose petal, leather, baking spice and earthy flavors. Neutral oak. Big enough, but light enough to chill and enjoy on a hot day. Not your typical Spanish Red. — 7 years ago

This was a very big surprise. Very good Greek Sangiovese with a kiss of Cabernet Sauvignon. Not cheap bet well made, real power of Sangiovese and the CS fills the pallet. Great length and enough backbone for 10 more years. — 7 years ago
Beautiful balance and elegant wine. Gets better the longer it's opened. — 8 years ago

Very impressed by the Palmas series, a special release of “en rama” sherries from selected casks from the Tío Pepe solera. Traditionally, cellarmasters in Jerez would mark exceptional casks with a chalk drawing of a palm tree branch (palma in Spanish), potentially adding more branches if those wines continued to show finesse and delicacy as they aged. To make the selection, González Byass’ invites different guests (mostly wine critics and somms) every year, an honor that befell Ferran Centelles (El Bulli) in 2020.
The 2020 Una Palma comes from three casks from the Tio Pepe solera with 6 years of aging under flor, bottled unfined and unfiltered (en rama). Sharp nose with notes of almonds, yeast and hints of citrus. Fresh, mineral and very saline. Much more intense aromas and flavors than the regular Tio Pepe — 4 years ago
