Woosh, the perfume and spice coming out of the glass is amazing - cloves and spices, but as it sat turning to menthol and Tiger Balm. Quite unusual. Cherry, pear, prune, light hints of smoke. Mild tannins. Very refreshing. — 8 years ago

Derived from volcanic soil, this has zestiness, spice, vibrancy for days. Great with antipasti, especially raw fish. 70% gritty, funky, expressive Cabernet Franc and 30% round, inky Canaiolo. What a nice surprise this wine turned into. I Bought it only because it was marked down to under $7 and if it was bad I was going to use it for cooking. Full bodied, with blackberry, plum, black pepper and this meaty, dry, smooth finish. Needless to say I bought a couple more bottles. — 10 years ago
