Beautiful, dry rosé with hints of strawberry. — 8 years ago
A stunner. Italian tibouren! Serve slightly lower than cellar temp and watch this beauty as it unfolds. Cherry liqueur and great acidity with a complexity that lifts it above being a mere ordinary quaffer. 1 hr decant. Colour is dusty garnet, like an old Barolo. Here’s to spring. — 8 years ago

Peach lemonade in the glass. A touch cloudy and gray, but delicate looks. Slightly astringent and hot on the nose. Nectarine pit, cloudberry, and a touch of acetone on the tongue. Almost orange wine like spices and spark. Surprising and lovely. Abso-frickin-ideal for pairing with briny seafood as well as something richer like a Malaysian honey BBQ chicken with mango salsa. — 7 years ago
Color is a peachy blush, like Cover Girl from the 90s. Very slight orange tint. I’m drinking this a day old, so fragrance isn’t so pungent: smells like outdoor seating at a white tablecloth restaurant with white flowers, with an elegant woman sitting two seats behind you wearing Crepe de Chine or Amal Goutal— something classic. Also has an undercurrent of Lemonheads (chemical citrus) smell as well. Taste is surprising, not acidic but still dry/not sweet— caramel-like, with peachy strawberry taste and a short finish. Kind of has the taste of a merlot inhabiting a rose. It’s really nice. I often don’t like rose because it’s too sweet or too dry or always somehow tastes too similar... but this one was special. Perhaps one of my faves of the summer. — 8 years ago
Dry but still manages to be refreshing. An undertone of smokiness. Perfect to kill summer. — 11 years ago

Tonight's wine I have opened is the 2019 Château Gassier Esprit Gassier Rosé, Coté de Provence. A blend of 40% Genache, 31% Syrah, 12% Censault, 6% Semillon, 5% Rolle and splashes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Tibouren and Clariette.
On the nose there is strawberry, raspberry, orange, peach, citrus, red currants and minerality.
On the palate there is strawberry, raspberry, peach, citrus notes, spice and good minerals.
This is a medium bodied wine with a smooth mouthfeel and medium + acidity that moves right into a long crisp citrus mineral driven finish. We are two days from Christmas and wishing all the best. May everyone have a wonderful and joyous holiday. Please be safe and healthy. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 6 years ago
