Yes? Super green. Greeny tart unripe stuff. Again, against my advice not decanted as long as i would have done under normal circumstances. Not my circus, not my monkeys. A bunch of good dirty notes, i suspect it would have been an excellent example in either 10 more years, or an additional 40 min in the Decanter. :/ — 8 years ago
This is a tasty sparkling wine and it features the endangered Chinese golden monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellana) on its label. And yes, the monkeys really do look like this! — 9 years ago
Years back a plush monkey wearing a sombrero cradled a small acrylic painting of my own sat in a well maintained yet delicately musty loafer with a soviet hammer and sickle I'd also painted on the side was placed on my friends doorstep in the middle of the night. Shortly after my friend opened the door to quite a surprise, he was deep in the land of mushrooms, so deep he required conformation of the loafer monkeys existence. The complexity of that situation is not unlike this leathery, light, and colorful display. — 10 years ago
Rice crackers, "spider monkeys" — 10 years ago
Kaiken is a magnificent blend that has an extraordinary power of making you feel like your face is being ripped apart by a school of spider monkeys. The extremely firm and masculine tannins only enhance the high acidity of this wine. The religious connotations are present yet not noticeable on first taste and smell. This should be a great pairing to gefilte fish Benedict and a bowl of skin scabs from mosquito bites. High quality label. — 11 years ago
I was very excited to try this and was not let down. The first word that comes to mind is “scrumptious” (which is weird because I never use that word nor do I know anyone who uses that word). Really graceful and beautiful. I would pair this with two tickets to an Arctic Monkeys concert 😉🔜👀

Really nice. Reeeeally nice. Just a touch of oxidation, but still quite lovely. Again against my advice poured from bottle and not decanted. Truly better after a tonne of time, but whatcha gonna do. Not my circus, not my monkeys — 8 years ago

Very good beer! Fresh, lime, fruity! — 10 years ago
More monkeys. I feel this is the kind of meal a PG Wodehouse character would have. — 10 years ago
Beautiful silky tannins, you really feel the passion of the proprietors. Can't wait for them to release the 2007! — 11 years ago

Still very “alive”, with a full on invasion of Sea Monkeys and a ton of CO2. That wasn’t the case with the previous bottle. Put the cork back in and left it in the wine fridge. We were out on night two, so didn’t try again until night three. At that point the cork popped like a Champagne bottle, but the sediments had settled and the CO2 abated. The wine was now what I remembered, with nice minerality and the unique flavor profile from the six grape blend. Score based on nights 3 and 4. — 7 years ago
