Blind Tasting MOT=96
Color: Brick red, hints of brown probably due to age
Nose: Earthy and lots of barnyard
Palate: Solid tannins and dry makes me think French Bordeaux
Opinion: Lovely wine, this one was the ringer (blind tasting was new world 95+ reds), delicious and so quaffable! — 10 years ago
Showed very well. Classic and balanced. Drink up though not improving I think. — 12 years ago
KWN #13. Orange-tinted color. No doubt this had some age to it. Blackberry, cigar box, wet forest floor. Think it's hitting the end of its lifecycle so drink now. — 10 years ago
Great fruity nose. Think fruit roll up. But a little too muted for my taste. — 10 years ago
Beautifully balanced , received as a gift, dont think I would buy it — 10 years ago
Perfectly integrated, well-ahead of the 1999 (still disjointed a few months ago). Supple, not powerful. Just an absolute pleasure. Red cherries, dried strawberries, rye, subdued tamari with slight balsamic prickle, browned liquorice. This isn't arresting as the '95, but rather it's a quieter, equally thoughtful companion. Effortlessly transportive. With it's constant shifting and ease, it makes me think of friendships. Of the people I've met and the conversations I've loved. Of my friend, Tim, who shared the bottle with me. Of friendships born out of music, climbing, work, school, wine - friendships that transcended the genre in which they emerged.
I wouldn't change anything about this wine. — 10 years ago

Very nebb-like. Darker, richer fruit than in '10, and I think the tannins are a bit riper, with lower acid. — 11 years ago

Silky blackberry and black cherry. Mild tannins and acidity. Very nice, but I think a bit overrated. One could purchase two bottles of comparable wine--and probably more interesting to the taste buds--for the same price. — 9 years ago
