Yellow gold. Heavier in the glass than the 06. Nice exotic nose. Has developed nice secondary notes of clay, spice, lemon and oyster shells. Complex. Some honey shows up. Big in the mouth but the finish was a bit thin, even with hours of air. Not sure if this will get any better from here. — 8 years ago

Yellow gold. Viscous and heavy in the glass. Bright fruity nose with notes of apricots, peach, spice, honey and crushed white stone. Very rich and glycerol in the mouth, but has a big backbone of structure and acidity. With air, it amplifies. Still young in its life, but a pleasure right now. Taste. 100 year old bread starter, very yeasty and moldy in a positive way. Old yellow apple, pear, old white mushrooms, orange cream, white chocolate.

This South African is an almost perfect World Class Chardonnay. WS rated it no. 57 of the 2018 Top 100. They say it’s “ Melon, yellow apple, white peach and quince flavors give this (wine) an opulent feel. I agree with the WS review and add Intoxicating fruit aromas, clean crisp mouth feel with a refined finish. If you enjoy Chardonnay this one is a standout. Cheers 🍷 — 7 years ago

Interesting refreshing Chardonnay, less of the typical - sometimes overwhelming - tropical fruits. But more white fruit (melon), a bit more acidity and a subtle hint of oak. Easy to drink but also interesting for those who appreciate more complexity. — 8 years ago
