Saturday night pre-bday. Nice dry finish, strong dark fruits, and lovely for a brisk evening sunset at the Fog Room. — 7 years ago
I was not blessed with the greatest birth vintage for Bordeaux (1991), but luckily my dear friend fared better (1989). Red currant, raspberry coulis, cedar, and graphite - the wine is still so fleshy, round and clean, nowhere near as tertiary as I'd expected going into the evening. It's structured, but also rather open knit after a quick decant. I hope to taste this Latour again in the coming years - as I believe it has many stories yet to tell. A special wine shared with even better company - there are worse ways to spend a Tuesday night. — 8 years ago
On this Saturday night I have opened the 2012 Bethel Heights Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir from Eola-Amity Hills Salem, Oregon.
On the nose there is cherry, black raspberry, plum, funk, vanilla, white pepper, light oak and dry earth.
On the palate there is tart cherry, raspberry, cranberry, clove, baking spice, minerality and damp earth.
This wine is medium bodied that has good complexity with medium acidity and medium fine tannins that moves seamlessly into a medium to long fresh fruit finish. Please have a wonderful safe and healthy Memorial Day weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 6 years ago
Brought this back from London from 40 Maltby...was waiting for a special occasion to drink it, then ended up cracking it open with a friend and some pizza slices at 2am on a Saturday. #noregrets — 7 years ago

Smooth, delicious, Saturday night kick starter! — 8 years ago
Special wine for a special night (anniversary) this wine is everything it’s made out to be. Sweet pure fruit nose, perfume in the glass, sweet fruit flavors mineral driven, with the acid, fruit and tannin in harmony. Very smooth, just want to sip it all night long. Has plenty of time left, so much for the 07 CdP naysayers. — 8 years ago
Wine of the night. This wine had EXCELLENT fruit, and showed NO VISIBLE SIGNS of decline. Great powerful blackberry. I was guessing 01 Stag's Leap or Rutherford. Turns out it was Caymus SS 01, but I was second guessing myself on the year because it was a very purple color into the decanter and showing well. The wine had great vanilla on the front, blackberry on the front, and a more youthful middle and finish with some herb. This wine has 10 years left in it no doubt. Whoever cut this one off at 2017 has no idea. This one literally showed no signs of decline whatsoever. Drink by date 2007 - 2030. — 9 years ago
Shared with Roberts, Marc & Ray on Saturday night. Still delicious, cherry, very drinkable — 6 years ago
Not a bad way to end a Saturday night — 6 years ago
I’ve had my mind on this bottle for a few weeks - the wife wanted a special bottle for a regular Friday night. It only needed an hour to decant for a 12-year old vintage. Subtle cassis, cured meat, mushroom, hint of licorice and leather on the palate. Fine dense tannins polish off a savory finish. Beautiful wine. #margaux #2ndgrowth — 6 years ago

On this Saturday night I have opened the 2014 Réserve De La Comtesse. 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot the second wine from Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de la Lalande.
On the nose there is sumptuous dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, black currant, stewed plums, chocolate, a bit of meatiness and tar.
On the palate the dark fruit continues with blackberry, black cherry, black currant, licorice, cedar, smoky oak, mocha and an earthiness.
This wine has a velvety mouth feel an is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + fine rounded tannin that leads to a delicious lingering finish. Stay safe and continued enjoyable weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 8 years ago
Full, savory wine, cravable, rich berries, great mouthfeel, silky tannins, subtle vanilla, roasted plum, tobacco...paired great with bitter dark chocolate following bucatini with roasted tomato marinara and braised meatballs on the lakefront at Burton...a great Saturday night — 9 years ago

In the day these guys were Epic! I traded for this wine (Covid inspired) and on a particularly cold, blustery Chicago Saturday... we did big-ass burgers and left over Greek potatoes and green beans. Match made in Heaven! Haven’t seen a plastic cork in years... 16.1... Holy Shit! No sign of alcohol on the palate... did you get that? 16.1... no alcohol on the palate? Dark, rich, cloudy, chewy—classic black fruit, pencil lead, saddle-leather notes. Still alive and balanced. What a fun wine with food on a cold winter night. — 5 years ago
