Reduction, slighty sulphuric, flinty smoke. On the 2nd day it opened up with red apples and lemonpeel, still some flint and wet stones, very tight and fresh style. Minerality like drinking a quarry. Amazing value. — 6 years ago
Tastes like the bottom of a soft limestone quarry. Full of lime and minerals, a little salty, puckeringly tart but with a nice long finish that mellows out, getting almost buttery. Really really wonderful find. — 7 years ago
This is like a rock quarry in a glass with some tart green apple and white flowers. Mild on the nose but lots of flavor on the palate. Lots of acidity on this why due to the high altitude vineyards of the Alps. This is a great wine for those hot humid days especially if you are into cool climate grapes. — 8 years ago
Consumed July 2016. I'm not normally a fan of Chenin Blanc but this was really good. Received this in one of my wine shipments. — 9 years ago
"Raspberry lip balm", bretty, tart limestone quarry quality. Needs to relax & open up — 9 years ago
A genius Klingelberger. What a nose. So floral. Flower shop levels. Little shop of insane dry Riesling. Gorgeous Mosel like fruit. Smells ripe and sweet but also bone dry. Green apples. Pear. Apricot. So vivid and detailed. Just wonderful. Lime blossom, sweet lime. Endless aromas. Fresh field level 10. But also rock quarry. Staggering young Klingelberger aromas. Palate is epic like a Norwegian Viking documentary epic. Dense, structured, deep man is this deep with just stunning purity and freshness. So vivid and so detailed. This is god level balance. So long. Never ends. The purity of this wine is just incredible. Amazing finesse and elegance and screamingly mineral and very very complex on the finish. This is a staggering young Klingelberger. 9.7. Yup. Just genius. Amazing concentration and depth. Really I can’t get over how good this is. — 5 years ago
Smells of Game, bramble and blackberries. Mud earth. Tastes, Extracted and full bodied. Vivid. High octane, mocha, mocha, mocha, mocha and wet leather, mulled spices. — 6 years ago
Grand cru white burgundy nose of Chenin. Heaven. Literally heaven. Flowers. Air. Minerals galore. Citrus oil. Like a rock quarry. The fruit in this candy lemon lime slices with sugar on hem. Like a drop of lemon and lime. So vivid. So deep and airy like an ocean mist of Chenin. Insane. Palate is balanced like nothing I’ve had in Savennieres. Massive and concentrated with piercing minerality. Stunning purity. Just insane. It’s so clean and so racy and so precise it seems cut like a diamond. Amazing length. What clarity. What a wine. This is a thrill now but demands and needs age. Stunning. Tangy citrus shows up what seems Ike minutes after it’s done. — 7 years ago
This wine wallops your nose with black cherry and a quarry full of crushed stones. Almost smells like I would imagine a Mencia grown in Saint-Joseph. Very zingy in the mouth, with little tannin but good acids and tons of stony minerality. Actually played very nicely, with a very slight chill, off my pasta with garden pesto, French beans, and new potatoes. Might be a little too simple on its own tho. — 8 years ago
Paired so nicely with a seafood-forward meal we had at the outstanding (and simply stunning) new Grey Gardens resto in Kensington Market. This chard was ever-so-slightly effervescent which only added to its bright and fresh quality. — 8 years ago
A wonderful showcase of what Ontario wineries can do to represent the true characteristics of a Riesling — 9 years ago
Great notes of vanilla — 5 years ago
1er Cru as of 2019 vintage. Would be a Monopole except half of a row was planted by another owner on what used to be a quarry at bottom of vineyard years ago when word spread that 1er Cru classification was impending.
Les Clos, also owned by Chateau Fuisse, will be the only Pouilly-Fuisse Monopole when 22 vineyards become 1er Cru as of 2019. — 6 years ago
Now THIS is old-school Cotes du Rhône. Aromas of dried garrigue brush and a quarry-full of cracked rock over the top of spicy blackberry skins. So much stony minerality in the mouth, it’s like the Grenache equivalent of a Saint-Joseph Syrah. Very savory, mouthfilling flavors. Tremendous value. — 7 years ago
Full bodied and fruit forward, nicely balanced. This wine is more Syrah with Grenache and Mourdverde. Blackberry, cassis with hints of anise and mineral notes adding complexity on the finish. — 9 years ago

Similar notes to prior bottle opened about one year earlier, but this is showing as fresher and more lively, Yum!
Nose has maraschino cherry, white pepper, dry leather, dried red raspberry, distant barnyard, dried orange peel, granite quarry and dry earth.
Palate has dried cherry, dried raspberry, white chocolate, sweet red pepper, black cherry, old leather with medium acidity. This bottle is showing decent tannins, 3H decant. Enjoy 2022-24, in proper storage.
Our second successful preparation of this dish tonight; chicken, apples and cremé à la normande (cream, onion, mushroom & calvados), Jura looks to accompany cremé & calvados just fine. — 4 years ago
